KINDER
The end of term also brings to a close our cooking programme for this year in Kindergarten. We have had some eager cooks and diners in class and I am so proud of all of them for giving all of the dishes cooked a try.
For those of you who don’t know, children take turns in preparing and cooking a meal for themselves and their classmates once a week, during term 3.
They chop, grate, stir, set the table and help wash up. We have cooked many dishes over the term from pizza and salad rolls to chicken curry, where we even ground our own spices!
Whilst cooking with me they are developing skills in maths, fine motor, resilience and cooperation, just to name a few.
We set the tables up each week into a long table, like we’re eating at a restaurant. This time bring us together as a group and helps foster a positive classroom culture. The children thoroughly enjoy it.
It has been an absolute pleasure cooking with this bunch of wonderful children this term. Thank you Kinders!
