YEAR 4-5
Year 4/5 have settled into their class routines and are getting some brilliant learning done.
Students were very excited to sign up to the Australia Post pen pal program. We have been paired with Burleigh Heads School in QLD and students have already posted off their first letters to introduce themselves and ask questions to find out more about their new pal.
In addition to letter writing, students have also been working on persuasive writing. Each student has been trying to persuade Miss Amy to get a class pet. They are still working on it, but each day Miss Amy is becoming more convinced that a class pet is a great idea.
In maths students have been studying place value, working on multiplication strategies, and finding multiples and factors. Students have enjoyed investigating these concepts through groupwork, games and whole class tasks.
We had a fantastic time at the Sunflower Art Exhibition at St John’s Church, and it was great to get out and about in the Franklin community! We returned to class bursting with creativity and made our own Van Gogh inspired sunflower artworks.
The whole class had a great day at the swimming carnival. We were so proud of how well students participated and gave it their best shot. It was fantastic to see them all in the water and being great sports.
