PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Franklin Families,
This term has again been a busy and productive time across the school. Teachers report that the discussions during our parent and teacher meetings were positive and that the feedback from parents has provided some clear directions for individual student learning in Term 2.
Term 1 finished with the External School Review Team visiting Franklin for two days. While here, the team spoke to staff, parents and students gathering information on how the school was performing in the areas of student learning and wellbeing. A report will be made available to the school community next term, but the initial findings discussed during a meeting with the review team show that we are performing at a high standard. This information will ensure that we continue to plan and implement programs and resources that support all students to achieve and be successful with their learning.
Included in this newsletter is an info graphic that explains the process of inquiry learning that teachers use across the school. Inquiry supports children to view themselves as thinkers and life-long learners. It promotes problem solving and gives them the tools to learn across all curricular areas including critical thinking, planning and self-management, organisation and communication. Staff will continue their work with education consultant, David Gilkes, in Term 2 using current evidence of what works in classrooms.
Franklin Primary staff would like to wish all our families a safe and happy easter break.
