YEAR 2-3 BLUE
During the last fortnight, we have been busy exploring how simple sentences can be stretched out and ‘dressed up’ by exploring vocabulary and how different words have special functions inside sentences. We like to practise our new skills with a partner or in small groups. We have also been working on our mathematical skills through playing numeracy games and working on tasks in small groups. We have come up with our science-based Inquiry question for this term after a few class discussions were provoked by an image of an insect in the water. We recorded down what we thought we knew about bees after learning that the insect was a honeybee, not a wasp by looking at photos of each and comparing them. Our Big Idea question we are going to explore is “Why are bees so important for us and our natural environment?” We have also had fun meeting and interviewing our new Reading Buddies from the Year 5/6 class after they interviewed and introduced each of us.
