We’ve had a great start to Term 3 and students were all very excited to see their classmates.  Some students travelled during the holidays. This has sparked a lot of questions and wonderings and is steering our class inquiry in the direction of Geography.

We have started Literacy with story writing and revising punctuation and spelling strategies. 

Maths has been linked to our Geography focus.  Students are working in pairs to plan an Australian road trip itinerary.  While learning about locations around Australia, they are also calculating distances, traveling time and converting between units. 

The students were happy to meet up with their Grade 1 buddies.  They helped their buddies with time and estimation Math tasks.  

We have been practicing calm down strategies and mindfulness as a whole class every day.   We are also working on maintaining a positive growth mindset and thinking about the skills we need to grow as learners.  We are focusing on becoming good thinkers, researchers, collaborators, communicators and self managers.
