What a great day for the athletics carnival on Tuesday! The respite from the recent rain allowed us to have a wonderful day running, jumping, throwing and enjoying a variety of physical activities on the oval. Students were excited to be able to represent their house and proudly wore their house colours.

It was great to see students eager to have a go at all events, persevering to finish the longer distance races and encouraging and helping each other.

Congratulations to the Yellow house for their outstanding effort, and congratulations also to the Blue House, who were very close on the heels of Yellow!

Mr Mitchell will be looking carefully at the results of events to choose a team for the Huon and Channel Athletics Carnival. This will be communicated to students and parents next week.

Thank you to the parents who helped on the day and the teachers for ensuring the day ran smoothly. An especially big thank you needs to go to Mr Mitchell for the wonderful job he has done in organising and running the carnival and to Rob for setting up, packing up and helping out with activities.

It has been a privilege to spend the past 2 and a half weeks in your lovely school. In that short time I have seen evidence of the exceptional learning happening in all classrooms. Teachers use effective strategies to spark the curiosity of students, who are given the tools to take responsibility and to invest in their own learning. Thank you to all students and staff for sharing your learning environment with me.
