Principal Report
Dear Franklin Families,
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to implement hygiene and physical distancing requirements in line with public health advice for schools. I would also like to draw attention to the very responsible approaches families are taking with keeping their children home if they show cold or flu symptoms. This is a very important part of ensuring that staff and students remain healthy during the winter term.
Due to the disruption caused by COVID-19 the Commonwealth Government has advised that there will be flexibility for 2020 mid- year reporting. The requirement to report A-E has been removed. Teachers are currently preparing to complete our mid-year reporting requirements Kindergarten to Year 6, which will take place through phone conversations. As everyone would appreciate the phone conversations between teachers and parents will provide a great opportunity to share information on academic achievements and the wellbeing of each individual child. Notes from all conversations will be recorded by teachers and filed for future reference. If a student has not returned to school after June 9 the conversation will focus on wellbeing and preparation for when the student returns to school in Term 3. For students with a Personalised Learning plan the conversation will focus on progress against individual learning goals and achieved outcomes rather that curriculum areas.
Have a great week.
